14 -24 Şubat tarihleri arasında Yunanistan İstanbul Başkonsolosluğunun Sismanoglio Megaro binasında

Sami Solmaz’ın “Adalar”ından Kostas Vergas`ın “Yunanistan” sergisine... Yunanistan İstanbul Başkonsolosluğunun Sismanoglio Megaro binasında 25 Ocak`ta başlayan fotoğraf sanatına adanmış festival devam ediyor. 14 Şubattan itibaren fotoğraf sanatçısı Kostas Vergas bizi “Yunanistan’dan Esintiler’’ isimli sergisinde, sayısız yunan topografya alternatiflerine doğru yolculuğa götürecek. Kostas Vergas Yunanistan’ı  adım adım dolaşarak, 60 lirik fotoğrafıyla, bize  bu duygulu ve şiirsel güzellikleri  kendi şahsi objektifinden sunuyor. Sanatçının sergisi halihazırda Ankara ve İzmirde devam ederken, Sismanoglio Megaro binasında 14 -24 Şubat tarihlerinde sanatseverlerin beğenisine sunulacaktır.

Kostas Vergas hakkında...

Kostas Vergas Nafplio`da doğdu. Patra Üniversitesinde Matematik okudu. 1986 yılından bu yana profesyonel olarak fotoğrafla uğraşıyor. Yayıncılık ve reklam şirketleri, ulusal ve uluslararası dergilerde çalışıyor. 1987`de Ulusal Turist Fotoğraf Yarışması'nda birincilik ödülünü kazandı (HELEXPO, Selanik). Londra Uluslararası Reklam Ödülleri ve New York Festival`da kazanan Yunanistan Turizm Kurumunun fotoğrafları onun imzası taşıyor. Sanatçının çalışmaları, Yunanistan, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri, İtalya, Finlandiya, Belçika, Fransa, Çek Cumhuriyeti, Romanya ve Almanya`da sergilenmiştir. 1997 yılından bu yana Atina`daki Leica Akademisinde fotoğrafçılık eğitimi veriyor.

Photography Exhibition

“Images of Greece”

14th February - 24th February at the Sismanoglio Megaro of the General Consulate of Greece in Istanbul

From Sami Solmaz’s Prince’s Islands to Costas Vergas’ Greece. The tribute to the art of photography which was inaugurated on the 25th of January continues at the Sismanoglio Megaro of the General Consulate of Greece in Istanbul. The photographer Costas Vergas will take us on a voyage along the numerous variations of the Greek scenery using as a medium his exhibition “Images of Greece”. Costas Vergas stands among the few who has taken images of the Greek area to such an extent; he projected the beauties of the Greek landscape with sensitivity and poetic mood onto sixty lyrical photos. His exhibition, which has already been presented to the public of Ankara and Izmir, will be hosted at the Sismanoglio Megaro from the 14th of February to the 24th of February 2012.

About Costas Vergas

Costas Vergas was born in Nafplio, and studied Mathematics at the University of Patras. He has been professionally involved with photography since 1986. He works for publishing and advertising companies, and for national and international magazines. His was awarded first prize in the Panhellenic Tourist Photography Competition 1987 (Hellenic State Tourist Organization - HELEXPO - Thessaloniki). The award-winning advertising photographs of the Hellenic Republic Tourist Organization at the London International Advertising Awards and the New York Festivals also bear his signature. His work has been shown in individual as well as in collective exhibitions in Hellas, the United States, Italy, Finland, Belgium, France, the Czech Republic, Romania and Germany. He teaches photography at the Leica Academy Athens Hellas since 1997.
